Sarah Sahagian


Sarah Sahagian is a PhD candidate in Gender, Feminist and Women’s Studies at York University, where she is writing her dissertation on the mothering of inter-ethnic children. She holds an undergraduate degree from Queen’s University and a master’s in Gender Studies from the London School of Economics. Her writing has appeared in such publications as the Demeter Press anthology on gender fluid parenting Chasing Rainbows, The Huffington Post, XOJane, Comments Enabled, and the satirical newspaper The Beaverton. Sarah is also the co-editor of the Demeter Press book Mother of Invention: How Our Mothers Influenced Us as Feminist Academics and Activists. When she’s not writing her dissertation, Sarah reads a lot of novels about other angsty young women, streams a lot of Netflix, enjoys the occasional glass of Shiraz, and likes to tweet about topics ranging from reproductive rights to who’s going to win The Bachelorette.
