Michigan’s “Don’t Say Vagina” Policy Protested

On Monday more than 4,000 people flocked to the capitol building in Lansing, Michigan in support of Democratic Representative Lisa Brown, who was barred from debate after using the word “vagina” in debate. Brown was speaking against aggressive anti-abortion legislation when she said: “I’m flattered that you’re all so interested in my vagina, but no means no.” Brown was also joined by fellow Democratic representatives and Eve Ensler, and together they put on a production of The Vagina Monologues on the steps of the Capitol.
