Hastings Elementary Kids Fight Homophobia

This morning I was listening to an NPR podcast on my way to work, in which they were interviewing actor/rapper Ice-T about his new memoirs. Someone emailed in to ask why the hip-hop music scene can’t be less homophobic and Ice-T’s comment was that most rappers are really young guys and you can’t expect too much from them, and that it takes age and maturity to realize it’s ok to be gay.

Well the kids at Hastings Elementary School in Vancouver, BC show that’s simply not true. Despite their age, they’re producing great anti-homophobia YouTube videos┬álike this one:
