Screen cap from Bad Blood parodyIn Canada, the GST was removed from menstrual products earlier this year, after a successful grassroots campaign was picked up by the NDP and a motion pushed through Parliament. However, the “tampon tax” still exists in other countries like Britain. In the UK, the “sanitary tax” is at 5 per cent, and is justified by viewing menstrual products as “non-essential, luxury items.”

In this video, comedians Cariad Lloyd and Jenny Bede take on the tax with their hilarious parody of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video.
